The Hassan is a monument to commemorate the mooring point where the refugees from the terrible Famine of the 18th Century, clutching their pathetic bundles of clothing and food, boarded the "coffin ships" which took the hardy ones to a new life in the New World The Photos were contributed by Janice Friel.
