The first, or primary, valuation was completed by 1863-1864. Thereafter, properties were reassessed periodically. Any changes in occupiers or lessors, or in the quality or dimensions of the properties were recorded in these revision lists.The Poor Law Union served as the Superintendent Registrar's District for taxation.
